Asobo Studios has released a new gameplay trailer for A Plague Tale: Innocence, offering a deeper look at the grisly medieval action-adventure romp in action. If you're not a fan of rats, I'd suggested watching something else.

A Plague Tale, for those who haven't been keeping up, takes place in 14th century France during the Black Death, which manifest itself here as an inexorable swarm of flesh-hungry rats.

The story follows siblings Amicia and Huge as they trek across the war-torn countryside, stepping over masses of corpses while pursued by Inquisition soldiers. Survival is the name of the game here, as you guide the duo through a brutal, unforgiving landscape on a mission to expose a dark secret.

It looks bloody fantastic for sure, but at the same time, rather gross; swarms of what looks like hundreds of disease-ridden rodents will stalk you, devouring literally everything in their path.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is due for release in 2019 on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
