A Boy and His Blob, released back in 2009 for Wii, is to launch on Xbox One, PS4, Steam and GOG on January 19, Majesco has confirmed.

There’s little info on the new edition of the Wii title – itself a re-imagining of a classic NES game – but the first trailer indicates a 1080p/60fps graphical upgrade.

When the world of Blobolonia is threatened by an evil Emperor, the blob comes to Earth looking for help. As the boy you feed the blob jelly beans and watch him transform into objects to solve puzzles and escape danger.

The original Wii game scored 7/10 in our review, where our reviewer praised the game’s “lovely” 2D art style and “pleasant” pacing.
