The active subscriber base for BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic has fallen by 400,000 people to 1.3 million, EA has announced in an earnings statement.
Back in February 2012 the subscriber figure was said to be 1.7 million, with analysts expecting the MMO to quickly hit two million subscribers.
However, more recently Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz pointed to an expected decline in subscribers.
EA has attributed the player loss to “casual and trial players” leaving the MMO.
The publisher also confirmed that the next SWTOR content pack, Allies, will be released between now and June. No further information was released.
