There are 1.3m more Xbox 360s than PS3s in UK homes, new data has revealed.
According to GfK Chart Track data, reported by Gamesindustry.biz, there are 1.9 million PS3s in UK homes, compared with 3.2 million Xbox 360s.
Both platforms pale into comparison with Nintendo, however. The Wii has a whopping 4.9 million UK installed base, up from 2 million in 2008. The DS (including DS Lite) has an installed base of an eye-watering 8.8 million in the UK.
The data also revealed impressive numbers for Sony’s PSP, which now has an installed base of 3.2 million, up from 2.6.
The figures show that, combined, there are 10 million Wiis, PS3s and Xbox 360s in UK and Ireland homes.
Adding handhelds, that number rises to an astonishing 22 million units, as of January 3 2009.
