The Battlefield title due for release in 2016 will see the series return to its military roots, EA has confirmed.
Speaking at the 2014 UBS Global Technology Conference yesterday, EA CFO Blake Jorgenson is reported to have said that the shooter is looking like a “fun new, Battlefield.”
“That will be a return to a Battlefield military-style game,” he said, “more to come on that.”
Confirmation means that the game likely won’t be a sequel to next year’s Battlefield Hardline, but a continuation of the core Battlefield series. Let’s be honest; it’ll probably be Battlefield 5.
Last year, Battlefield 4’s executive producer Patrick Bach said that he’d like to see “More features. More extras. More destruction,” in the next game, adding that “every new game needs to be the next big thing”.
Battlefield 4’s final piece of DLC, Final Stand, launched to Premium members earlier this week.
