Activision Blizzard has reported digital revenues of $1.7 billion for the year ended June 2011, a 22 per cent increase over $1.4 billion the previous year.
The rise has been attributed in part to 18 million sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops map packs.
In previous years Activision sold 11 million map packs based on the 19 million selling Modern Warfare 2 and nine million map packs for the nine million selling World at War.
Black Ops owners have spent an average of $76 on the title, including the retail game purchase and DLC.
Big things are expected of this November’s Modern Warfare 3, with Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirschberg predicting pre-orders will topple the figure set by Black Ops.
