Undertow from Chair Entertainment is a new Xbox Live Arcade title with a strong focus on multiplayer. The game is an underwater shooter supporting up to 16 players, plus a 15 level campaign mode which can be tackled on your own or in co-op.

According to the game’s official website the main goal when playing Undertow is to kill as many enemies as you can and stay alive for as long as possible. It certainly sounds like gaming in its rawest form.

The game features three races (Iron Marine, Nemoidian and Atlantian), each with four unique, upgradeable unit types. These range from the fast and agile to the large and powerful. Unit upgrades can be unlocked as the player acquires points through killing enemies, completing team goals and taking check points. Games will also feature a scattering of power-ups to further upgrade units.

Undertow is hoped to be released on Xbox Live Arcade later in the summer.
