Microsoft has told MCV that it maintains that its Xbox 360 console has a one million unit lead in Europe, despite Sony recently stating the PS3 has a 10 million installed base in PAL territories. Microsoft had earlier announced a European installed base of nine million units.
“We’re confident we are actually around a million units ahead,” Xbox Europe boss Chris Lewis told MCV.
“We count installed base differently to them,” he added. “We count the number of units in the hands of consumers.”
