Earlier today during its Nintendo Conference 2007, Nintendo has outlined its plans for online, revealing new games and information on its Wii Ware download service.

According to a live blog translated by IGN, Nintendo plans to increase Wii internet usage and will be helping Wii owners to get connected, even offering support and equipment to get users online.

According to Nintendo 7.8 million Virtual Console downloads have been made and, in addition to growing the library of titles for this service, Nintendo will be releasing the Wii Ware channel consisting of new game downloads. The service is scheduled to go live in Japan in March 2008.

Software available via Wii Ware will be cheap and the service will be home to all kinds of titles, including new games from major software creators. Unveiled today was Pokemon Farm which enables DS gamers to transfer their Pokemon from Diamond and Pearl to the Wii and then raise them in a farm-like environment.

Also on the way is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles from Square Enix. Subtitled The Young and the Promised Land, the game will be exclusive to Wii Ware and will enable gamers to build their own country.

Other Wii Ware titles shown included Star Soldier R, a Namco Bandai puzzle game called Mojipittan and Dr Mario.

Nintendo also spoke of its intentions to expand the Wii Vote Channel, enabling gamers to rank games that they have played and also search for games that match your tastes. There was also some talk of demo downloads, although at this time we have no further details. In Europe the Wii Ware service will be called Wii Software.
