Lexicon Entertainment has announced the development of Voltage, an all-new futuristic racing game with real-time strategy elements for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The game is in development at Czech-based IBA Group and promises to bring something new to the racing genre. Races take place in the future on the planets of the Solar system, where players compete in technologically advanced races to acquire the title of the Solar System’s Best Racer.
Player will choose from a selection of anti-gravity vehicles which can jump to reach special sections of the tracks to gain a more advantageous position. Each track will feature a host of elements including Teleports, Electromagnetic Platforms, Nuclear and Tachyon fuel power-ups and shortcuts.
Races are located on Earth, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, the Moon and Europa, with environments rendered to closely resemble the actual conditions of each planet. In all 15 tracks will be available, with Championship, Quick Race and Multiplayer modes.
Voltage is scheduled for release in autumn 2008 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
