In a conference call, Microsoft CFO Chris Liddell has revealed that 11.6 million Xbox 360 consoles were shipped as of June 30, some 400,000 units short of the company’s 12 million target.
Although obviously a disappointment, Liddell remained buoyant, noting that Microsoft is “happy with that number” and still expects the Entertainment & Devices Division to make a profit in fiscal year 2008.
With E3 now only days away, Microsoft will surely be bringing out the big guns to ensure it has a bumper holiday season.
