The Simpsons Fortnite season has been a huge success for everyone involved. Beginning on November 1 as a mini-season, Epic Games’ free-to-play battle royale title will conclude on November 29 with a ‘Zero Hour’ event. The game has seen a huge number of players jump in to experience the map’s transformation into Springfield in various ways.

From fighting bosses like Evil Homer and Krusty the Clown, to using several iconic weapons and items from the animated series, there’s been plenty to enjoy. However, with ‘Zero Hour’ fast approaching, marking the start of Chapter 7, there are various ways in which the finale could play out. With this in mind, here are five ways we think that the The Simpsons X Fortnite collab should end.

✓ VideoGamer
  • The Simpsons is an animated show that debuted in 1989, with roughly 800 episodes broadcast to date.
  • Fortnite, created by Epic Games, came out in 2017 and has become one of the defining battle-royale games in the genre.
  • The Simpsons X Fortnite collab began on November 1.
  • Players can collect items and fight enemies related to the show, as well as earn cosmetics like a Homer and Krusty the Clown skin.
  • The Simpsons X Fortnite collab will end on November 29 with a ‘Zero Hour’ event, but details are sparse at the time of writing.

Mr Burns takes over Springfield, with a three-eyed fish

Despite Mr Burns’ mansion being one of the iconic locations that can be found in the Simpsons X Fortnite map, the elderly millionaire has yet to make an appearance. But having attempted so many schemes in the animated series, it seems like an obvious choice for Burns to be involved in the ‘Zero Hour’ event on November 29.

With the Power Plant currently polluting much of the water with pink radioactive waste, there’s always a chance for Burns to bring back some of his older ideas. This could include the Sun-blocking contraption, returning to his terrible movie rip-offs, or Vampire Burns from a Treehouse of Horror episode. These could take over the map on November 29, spurring ‘Zero Hour’ to occur to defeat Mr Burns before the map changes for Chapter 7.

Hank Scorpio and his army invade

Despite featuring once in the Season 8 episode, ‘You Only Move Twice’, Hank Scorpio established himself to be an iconic villain in The Simpsons. Throughout the episode, Scorpio was shown to be a Bond-esque villain, going so far as to parody a scene from Goldfinger. For ‘Zero Hour’, Fortnite could leverage this episode in several ways.

First off, his base could appear on the map, with his army ready to invade. Scorpio could even appear towards players, throwing sugar and using his flamethrower as the map changes into the rumored movie-inspired map for Chapter 7. It could be a perfect end-of-season event for this collab, showcasing a one-time villain in a one-time event.

Itchy and Scratchy Robots take over

The Season 5 Simpsons episode, ‘Itchy and Scratchy Land’, is a perfect parody of Disneyland. From its singalong rides to the giftshops of many names and forgotten characters, it’s 20 minutes of non-stop jokes. However, the end of the episode had the robots turn against the park’s guests, with a camera flash being the only weapon against them all.

This could be a perfect end-of-season event for Chapter 6, starting with Itchy and Scratchy Land appearing a few days before ‘Zero Hour’ on November 29. Then, once the event starts, an army of Itchy and Scratchy robots could transform parts of the map into a technological hellscape, taking a leaf out of Helldivers 2’s book.

A Kang and Kodos invasion

Having first appeared as a glider that players can claim by using their MyDisney account, a Kang and Kodos appearance on November 29 could be a great full-circle moment for the Simpsons x Fortnite collab. Appearing in the second season episode ‘Treehouse of Horror’, these iconic villains are essentially a haphazard comedy act, usually looking over Earth or trying to take it over in various ways.

Zero Hour could bring players into the deep reaches of space, where a huge battle across the stars would rage. Ideally, we’d want our noble fleet of Fortnite buses to take the battle to an armada of spaceships led by Kang and Kodos. Is it fanciful? Absolutely. Would our little Simpsons-loving hearts explode with joy at the prospect of a massive, overblown space battle? You know they would.

The Delorean reaches the multiverse

The Simpsons has always been known to parody TV and movie culture in various ways. From McBain taking inspiration from Arnold Schwarzenegger to the hilarious McGarnagle Clint Eastwood parody, The Simpsons has never shied away from meta humour.

With rumors that Back to the Future’s Marty McFly is appearing in Chapter 7 on December 1, ‘Zero Hour’ could start with a Simpsons villain on the verge of success, with all hope lost for our valiant Fortnite players. This is, until the Delorean Time Machine appears, in a Simpsons-fied cel-shaded look. This could be a great bridge to end the Simpsons x Fortnite mini-season and begin with Chapter 7, defeating whoever could be in charge of the Zero Hour event, complete with the iconic Back to the Future music.

Perhaps Marty and Homer even share some scenes. This sort of postmodern collaboration is a cornerstone of Fortnite’s appeal and would certainly play to the title’s strengths.
