Arrowhead has released the Helldivers 2 update 4.1.1 patch notes, and there are no significant balance changes or gameplay tweaks reported as they simply list fixes with a huge emphasis on removing crashes.

Right now, Arrowhead are focusing on improving the game’s performance. Helldivers 2 game director, Mikael Eriksson, recently said the studio’s aim is to release new performance patches roughly every two weeks before hopefully returning to content updates by December. The studio is also exploring the idea of starting closed beta tests in the future so that the community can help eliminate crashes before patches are released.

This is the first patch for November, and below are the update 4.1.1 patch notes as shared on Discord:

Helldivers 2 update 4.1.1 patch notes

Overview

Freedom’s greetings, Helldivers! For this ongoing minor update stability and balance improvements were the focus of the team. We look forward to hearing how you feel we’re keeping the galaxy (and democracy) running smoothly.

  • Fixed issues related to unused textures loaded into memory.

Optimizations

  • (PC only) Fixed for textures sometimes appearing low resolution even when memory is available
  • Reducing flashlight reaction on muzzle smoke on all weapons for a better FOV
  • Reduced frame rate stutters during the drop-in sequence
  • Optimized destruction on various tree assets to maintain performance when lots of trees are being destroyed

Hopefully Arrowhead are able to return to new content before the year ends. Last year’s The Game Awards saw the surprise announcement and release of The Omens of Tyranny, and hopefully Arrowhead have another surprise in store come December 11th. We don’t know what new content Arrowhead is officially cooking, but leaks have revealed a new stealth Warbond plus a lava planet straight out of Star Wars. There is also a slew of leaked Illuminate Cultsists that have yet to join the battlefield.
