Frankie over at Bungie.net has posted the latest Bungie weekly update, revealing that not only will the single-player Halo 3 blow our minds, but multiplayer testing for the game is already underway.

Frankie says that he was able to play part of a single-player mission in Halo 3. The level takes place before the events of the E3 trailer, and apparently it blew the minds of those that played it. Sounds good.

The Bungie team, not content with gorging themselves on mind blowing single-player experiences, is also testing the multiplayer component of Halo 3.

Lars, one of the new(er) multiplayer designers, has a regular multiplayer test in session now – that happens every day – and with surprisingly polished-looking graphics, although I’m told a lot of the textures and decorator objects are just placeholder at the moment. Could have fooled me,” writes Frankie.

Most of the poor souls at Bungie have to make do with standard definition 4:3 displays when testing the multiplayer game. Frankie assures readers that the game “looks awesome on non HD sets,” but also notes that “there is always a crazy rush to get to the sets that are HD during those sessions.

With Halo 3 set for release at some point in 2007, these teasing updates are bound to become more and more tantalising as the months pass by. We’ll let you know if any future updates let slip any juicy game details.
