With the start of the Halo 3 multiplayer beta getting ever closer – we’re not sure how close because a start date hasn’t been announced – Bungie has released a FAQ, giving those who are mad keen on Halo easy access to all the beta information that is currently available.
There’s nothing all that new to come from the FAQ but there are a few points worth passing on. Firstly, the FAQ makes it clear that the beta will not begin when Crackdown is released – something which has never been the plan.
“The beta will not start when Crackdown is released. The beta will go live when it’s ready, which should be sometime this Spring. The team is currently busy whipping the included content into shape.” says the FAQ.
As for how long we’ll be able to play, this is also something currently being decided. All we know is that it will be for a “limited time“.
The FAQ also reveals that the beta will have “many thousands” of participants, will include the party matchmaking system and will include “just enough” maps, gametypes and playlists to get the data Bungie requires.
