Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3: Memories of Dreams Bygone is on the horizon. Players will team up with the Spook Shack, a group of online friends who hunt ghosts. The Spook Shack is far from a typical faction. Their focus on the Supernatural is especially fitting, given the planned Halloween-adjacent release date of this update.
As usual, we have a livestream full of details to break down. Aside from information on new agents, quests, and events, we also received updates regarding a treasure trove of new free content. The 2.3 livestream showcased plenty to be excited about; the future of ZZZ continues to look bright. Read on as we break down everything we know about ZZZ update 2.3.
- Zenless Zone Zero: Memories of Dreams Bygone launches October 15, 2025, introducing the Spook Shack faction, livestreamed details on new agents, quests, events, and free content.

ZZZ 2.3 start time and release date
Zenless Zoneless Zero 2.3 releases on October 15, 2025. The ZZZ 2.3 release date is unlikely to receive any delays, as the livestream would have been delayed if the update itself were to be pushed back. Though if this changes, we will update you here.

ZZZ 2.3 new characters
Three new Zenless Zone Zero characters step onto the battlefield in update 2.3: Lucia, Yidhari, and Komano Manato. These three are fittingly all members of the Spook Shack and bring with them not only interesting lore but also unique combat kits.
Firstly, Lucia is an S-rank Ether support agent fascinated by Ethereals. She uses her powers to recreate them in battle. Her gameplay revolves around building Dream Points through basic attacks to enter Dream State and unleash Ether Veil: Wellspring, boosting allies’ max HP and overall damage. In this state, her attacks amplify team damage through Dreamer’s Nursery Rhyme and increased Sheer Force, while Aftershocks deal off-field damage when allies attack.
Her Ultimate creates a healing zone and can extend Dream State’s duration. By cycling skills to maintain Dream Points and timing buffs before key fights, Lucia provides sustain, team amplification, and passive damage, making her a cornerstone for coordinated teams.
Yidhari, an S-Rank Ice Rupture Agent, thrives on risk and reward, excelling when HP is low. She gains Sheer Force scaling with max HP, and her ice attacks always deal Sheer Damage, piercing defenses. As her HP drops, her damage increases, requiring careful balance between tanking and healing. She can charge basic attacks at the cost of HP for heavier hits, while some abilities restore it.
During charge or EX windows, she can parry by releasing at the right time, deflecting damage, healing, and triggering Charging Pursuit for burst damage. When her Decibels resource is full, she automatically activates Ether Veil: Wellspring to boost party HP at the end of combos or EX skills. We reckon that she will likely dominate the Zenless Zone Zero tier list.
Lastly, Komano Manato is an A-Rank Fire Rupture Agent who deals Sheer Damage that scales with max HP, delivering powerful strikes while remaining durable. His abilities focus on consistent, HP-based offense, breaking defenses, and sustaining damage.
In Rupture teams, he excels at applying steady pressure and synergizing with allies who boost Sheer DMG or benefit from high HP. His straightforward playstyle makes him a reliable Fire damage dealer. He is also obtainable for free by completing When Dreams Remain Unfinished event during update 2.3.
As is standard for new ZZZ characters, the new additions in 2.3 will be released across two banners over the duration of the update.
As soon as 2.3 goes live, Lucia’s banner will be available; her banner will give players a chance to pull her alongside A-rank Komano Manato and Piper as A-rank rate-ups. During this time, Lucia’s signature W-Engine Dreamlit Hearth will also be featured on a weapon banner. This will give players a chance to pull what will be a cornerstone of her ideal build.
During this phase, Ether Anomaly Agent Vivian will also receive a rerun. The same A-ranks still retain their rank, and players will have another opportunity to pull their W-Engine.
In phase 2, running from November 5, players will have the chance to pull the other S-rank of the update Yidhari. She will be available alongside Pan Yinhu and Pulchra, who are the rate-boosted A-ranks for this banner. Her W-Engine Krakens Cradle will also be available at this time.
During this phase, Ju Fufu will also receive a rerun. The same A-rank characters once again have boosted rates, and her W-engine will similarly be available to pull once again.
It is also worth noting that Agent 0 – Anby has received an enhancement. Players can enhance Agent 0 for free when they log in, unlocking new skills, optimized combos, and core passive enhancement.
ZZZ 2.3 new modes, events, and free rewards
There is a brand new combat mode coming to ZZZ with update 2.3. Not much is known at this time beyond what was shown. However, we know that players must battle through combat challenges within ‘nodes’. These nodes will provide branching points leading to different outcomes, though the exact nature of those outcomes is still to be seen.
We have confirmation of two events coming to version 2.3. One returning event and one brand new event. When Dreams Remain Unfinished provides a turn-based challenge based around commanding different creatures with unique traits and tactical positioning. Completion of this event will also reward players with A-rank Agent Manato. ‘SNAP!’ also makes a return with more freedom, allowing players the chance to take more gorgeous screenshots.
As a reward for completing Season 2 Chapter 4 Memories of Dreams Bygone, players will also receive the Komano Manato outfit shown off above. Vivian has also received a beach outfit. Players can receive this for ‘free’, given they attain over 180 pulls across updates 2.3 and 2.4. Players can also claim an extra 600 Polychromes in addition to the usual rewards of 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons.
