Pokemon TCG Live is the Pokemon TCG’s online way to play the game. Like other digital card games, Pokemon TCG Live has a few different currencies that players can collect to do various things within the game. There are three for Pokemon TCG Live, coins, crystals and credits. But the most elusive of the three is the crystals, so today we’re going to talk about how to get crystals in Pokemon TCG Live and what you can do with them.

Pokemon TCG how to get crystals
If you’re wanting to get more crystals in Pokemon TCG Live, then it’s honestly a very simple process. You can’t buy them with real money, as the game doesn’t have any in game microtransactions. At the end of the day, you earn more crystals from simply playing the game. As you complete quests in the game, you’ll earn crystals. If you have the premium battle pass, you’ll also earn crystals that way.
Pokemon TCG What are crystals used for?
Once you’ve earned your crystals, what are they used for? Well, there’s a few things that you can use crystals for in Pokemon TCG Live. First, and probably the most important, you can use crystals to purchase the premium battle pass for 600 crystals. This is the first thing that you should spend your crystals on in a given season. If you’re playing a fair amount, you’ll earn those crystals back and more through the premium track and from quests. You can also purchase levels on your battle pass with crystals at the cost of 200 crystals a tier. We don’t recommend doing this save a few circumstances.
- You are well above 600 crystals to be able to get the premium pass for next seasons
- You’re purchasing a tier that will net you a large quantity of boosters
- You’re at the end of the battle pass and can get the final tier of rewards
Bundles and Packs
On top of that, you can use crystals to purchase bundles and packs from the store to boost up your collection. These bundles can range from a handful of cards, to starter decks, to packs and card. You can also get different sizes of boosters from the sets on the client. Here’s the pricing for the booster pack bundles and what you get in them.
- 1 pack + 10 crafting credits: 200 Crystals
- 3 packs + 125 crafting credits: 560 Crystals
- 6 packs + 350 crafting credits: 1,120 Crystals
- Elite Trainer Box (10 packs, Promo card, sleeves, deckbox): 2500 Crystals
- Promo Kit (4 Promo cards + 3 packs): 750 Crystals
We don’t recommend purchasing any of these bundles unless you’ve already completed the premium battle pass. For the cost of an Elite Trainer Box, you can purchase tiers on the battle pass that will net you more booster packs, cards, crafting credits, crystals and other items.
Currency Conversions
The final thing that you can do with crystals is you can redeem them for coins. Coins are one of the other currencies that are earned through completing quests, playing matches and ranking up in level and the battle pass. These are used exclusively to purchase cosmetic items for your character, as well as deck boxes, sleeves and coins. We again don’t recommend that you trade crystals for coins at all. Simply by playing, you should earn all the coins that you’ll need to pick up whatever cosmetic items you want.
