Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp are powerful Ground/Dragon-type Pokemon and perhaps among the best that Nintendo has ever created for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. With strong physical attack power, each of its evolutions is a strong addition to your team. If you want your Garchomp to be as strong as possible, you will want it to have a strong nature. We’ll explain what is the best nature for Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Best nature for Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp

When picking out the nature for any of your Pokémon, the aim should always be to boost their best attributes while sacrificing only their worst attributes. In this way, you ensure that your Pokémon excel in their single designated role, whether that be offensive or defensive. Furthermore, Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp have similar IV distributions. This means that whatever nature will be best for Garchomp will also be the best nature to choose for Gabite and Gible respectively.

The nature to choose if you’re looking to deal extra damage with your Garchomp is Adamant. This nature increases your Physical Attack Stat by 10% while decreasing only your Special Attack stat by 10%. This is the optimal choice for Garchomp as a Physical damage dealer, with its strongest moves being “Take Down” and “Dragon Rush” and relatively few Special Attack moves. Leaning fully into the Physical Attack stat while sacrificing only the scarcely used Sp. Attack stat is the best way to maximize your offence while minimizing loss in performance.

The nature you should pick if you’re aiming to make your Garchomp stronger defensively is Impish or Careful. The Impish nature increases your Physical Defense stat by 10% while decreasing only your Special Attack stat by 10%. The Careful nature increases your Special Defense while decreasing your Special Attack stat.

Both of these natures work great with Garchomp due to its even stat distribution. There is little difference between the Defense and Special Defense stats. Which of the two you choose depends on how you wish to use your Pokémon; If you want your Garchomp to defend against physical attacks, choose Impish, and if you plan to defend against special damage, choose Careful.
