As Honkai Star Rail enters its story’s endgame, HoYoverse has continued to ramp up the story and gameplay content. At this crossroad, a new storyline unfolds as familiar characters return with brand new forms as Evernight and Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae officially join the playable roster.
These two new yet familiar faces take center stage in this update as it explores these new forms for March 7th and Dan Heng. There is a lot of new and exciting content coming in Honkai: Star Rail 3.6, so below we’ll break down all the specific details you need to know before it launches.

For its next update, the Honkai: Star Rail release date will be either on Tuesday, September 24, or Wednesday, September 25, depending on your location. As HoYoverse tends to push the livestream back in case of delays, a change to this release date seems unlikely.

New Honkai: Star Rail characters
The first new character is Evernight. According to Evernight, she embodies the forgotten past of March 7th and is an Ice character following the Path of Remembrance. Evernight excels at fighting with memosprites. She passively boosts their CRIT DMG, with greater bonuses when paired with Remembrance characters.
Her summon, Evey, grows stronger by accumulating Memoria, unleashing a powerful AoE attack once enough stacks are reached. Her Ultimate, Darkest Riddle, not only damages all enemies but also amplifies both her and Evey’s power. In this state, Evernight generates extra Memoria with each Skill, allowing Evey to snowball into even greater damage.
Dan Heng also takes center stage once again with a new form, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae. After wielding the power of the Azure Dragon, Dan Heng has taken another step on the path of Permanence and unlocked his own power, Permansor Terrae.
Focusing on shielding and team protection in battle, he designates a Bondmate and summons a Souldragon, providing stackable Shields to all allies. The Souldragon dispels debuffs, strengthens Shields, and when empowered by Dan Heng’s Ultimate, unleashes a Follow-up AoE attack that scales with the Bondmate’s abilities.
Dan Heng will also be receiving a new animated short. We have a screenshot that showcases a unique art style, but no release date was mentioned.
Can you claim Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae for free?
If you don’t feel like whaling for Dan Heng again, Hoyoverse has you covered. Until the end of Version 4.0, Trailblazers with Trailblaze Level 3 or above who log in can claim the 5-star character Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae for free.
So what are the two new Honkai: Star Rail banners, and when are they releasing?
The first phase of the banner schedule will be players’ first chance to pull Evernight with returning 5-star The Herta. During this banner, players will also have the chance to pull Evernight’s signature light cone: To Evernight’s stars.
The following booster 4-star characters will also be available:
- Misha (Ice, The Destruction)
- Guinaifen (Fire, The Nihility)
- Xueyi (Quantum, The Destruction)
This banner will run from Wednesday, September 24 until Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
In Phase 2, Honkai: Star Rail players will have a chance to pull Dan Heng Permansor Terrae with a rerun of the 5-Star Wind attacker of The Erudition Anaxa. This banner will also provide players the chance to pull Through Worlds Apart Permansor Terrae’s Light Cone.
This banner will also feature boosted 4-star characters:
- Sushang (Physical, The Hunt)
- Hanya (Physical, The Harmony)
- Serval (Lightning, The Erudition)
This banner will run from Wednesday, October 15, until Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.6 new map revealed
The new Honkai Star rail map has also been revealed. First, we have the Radiant Scarwood Grove of Epiphany. Though only a little time has passed outside Amphoreus due to the time fluctuation, the Grove of Epiphany has changed quite a bit. This would seem to be the backdrop for some of the story in the 3.6 update, though not much else is known.
The boss of this area is the Judge of Oblivion; his gimmick is that he primarily focuses on single-target damage. Players will have to use shields effectively as the Judge will get weaker if his attacks are blocked using a shield. In addition, players will have to select a character to take the most damage from his ultimate attack, creating an interesting setup for unique strategies.
The other new Honkai: Star Rail map announced was Universal Matrix: Great Tomb of the Nameless Titan. In the livestream, Dan Heng speculates that this could relate to the 13th titan beyond the twelve that are known, and it is further said to record a “forgotten path”. As Evernight’s intentions have to do with “Era Nova”, a divergent path from the ones we know, this new area is likely to play a huge role in the story of 3.6 and beyond.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.6 events
The biggest Honkai: Star Rail news is the multiple new events for 3.6.
Nice Weather for Dromases is an upcoming event where players will raise a Dromas. Players can plan their Dromas’ schedule, clear tests, and change their outfit, all for rewards.
Try-Not-to-Laugh is a daily combat event where players will have to clear waves of enemies to gain rewards. The twist here is that a “surprise box” will designate members of your team as comedians. There will be effects depending on how many Honkai: Star Rail characters in your team are comedians.
A new multiplayer event, Colorful Mayhem, promises a multiplayer event packed with seasonal fun. This will consist of two mini-game modes added to Seal Slammers and Origami Bird Clash, where players can earn rewards.
The first new game mode is Double Seals, added to Seal Slammer, where players will compete with six seals, with three acting as main combatants and three acting as support. The second new mode is Best of the Flock, which is a fruit-matching game where players compete against each other to be top of the flock.
Lastly, a new reward event is being added, along with a few reruns. The new Honkai: Star Rail event is Conductors’ Special Treat, rewarding level 3 and above trailblazers an Interference Key, Lone Stardust, and Jade Feathers from their Mail when they log in anytime before 3.7. Gift of Odyssey, Planar Fissure, and Realm of the Strange also all make a return.
New Honkai: Star Rail game mode for 3.6
There is also the new endgame dungeon game mode called Anomaly Arbitration, which promises the toughest challenge yet, but an extremely valuable new reward. Players will have to prepare three teams to take on trial stages before accessing a final super-difficult stage. Those who clear it will be rewarded with an Interference Key, which will lock a Sub-stat when using a Variable dice. This makes achieving your desired stats easier than ever.
We also have a much-requested new main story replay feature coming to the game, which will allow players to freely choose specific story segments or cutscenes to experience again, which will be perfect as Honkai truly enters the endgame.
