Alongside the main story, the Ninja Gaiden 4 chapters are peppered with optional side quests called missions that are picked up and handed in via Umi at the DarkNest Terminal shrines scattered across Tokyo. Conveniently, many are tied to numerous Ninja Gaiden 4 trophies, which make them worth doing if you’re aiming for 100% completion.

Ninja Gaiden 4 missions come in two forms. The first type is tied to specific chapters and involves completing set objectives, such as defeating specific enemies and finding items. The second type spans the entire story and typically involves finding collectibles or completing combat objectives. The latter are marked as ‘All Areas’, letting you know they are limited to this or that chapter. Note that new missions are also available in New Game+.
