Wondering how to throw cargo in Death Stranding 2? While you’ll spend most of your time nursing cargo across ankle-breaking terrain to make sure it’s in top condition for delivery, there are times when knowing how to chuck a metal case at someone comes in handy. Those bandits and brigands have it coming.
Though the game does a generally fantastic job of detailing all of its mechanics, there’s very little mention about lobbing deliveries through the air. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to throw cargo in Death Stranding 2.
How to throw deliveries in Death Stranding 2
To throw cargo, you’ll first need to first equip the cargo in your right or left hand. You can do this from the Cargo Management section in the Ring Menu or by picking cargo up from the ground using R2 for the right hand or L2 for the left. Once you’re holding cargo, press Circle (the attack button) to swing and throw the cargo.
Note that holding cargo in your hands behaves a little strangely. If you press R2/L2 but don’t hold it down, Sam will hold the cargo for a short period before putting it back down on the ground. Your best bet is therefore to hold down R2/L2 until you’re ready to throw, then release and quickly tap Circle to throw. Alternatively, you can release R2/L2 as Sam’s arm swings round to the front of his body after tapping Circle to throw the cargo.
As for the trajectory, Sam tends to throw cargo more or less in front of him. If you’re near enemies, he’ll throw the cargo at the closest enemy in range. The system can be a little sketchy, but after a few tries you’ll get the gist of it.
