Wondering how to get to The Inventor island in Death Stranding 2? On a tiny island just off the coast from the Mine North of F1 is a prepper shelter inhabited by The Inventor. There’s no direct path to the island and it’s surrounded by water on all sides. Bridges don’t stretch far enough to reach the island. There’s no way to jump down if you zip-line along the monorail that runs above the island. The area isn’t on the Chiral Network so building a Zip-Line is out of the question, too.
So how do you get there? Is there a secret path? Do you need to progress the main story? In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get to The Inventor Island and deliver cargo destined for the bunker on the small island.

How to reach The Inventor in Death Stranding 2
To get to The Inventor in Death Stranding, you’ll need to follow a hidden path through the water. Approach the shore near the island and scan the water using the Odradek by tapping L1 to show the different depth levels. To reach the island, you’ll want to stay on the yellow patches that denote fairly shallow water. They snake a path through the water to the island.
The best place to start is on the small sand bank to the southwest of the island. The path from there goes roughly east, then north, then east again, leading you to the western shore of the island. From there, you’ll be on dry land and can safely make your way over to the Delivery Terminal inside the shelter.
Alternatively, you can reach the island by riding the monorail from the Mine North of F1 north towards and jump off when you above The Inventor island. This method is dependent on having the Mine North of F1 set up and the monorail running so does require some groundwork.
It’s well worth gathering up a few pieces of cargo for The Inventor that spawn on the shore near the island as well as a PCC Lv2 before heading over. This will allow you to connect the shelter to the Chiral Network and set up a Zip-Line to and from the island to make future visits easier. Aside from joining the network, The Inventor will also give you the Otter Hood, which prevents Sam from drowning in water.
