You can modify your Death Stranding 2 suit color to add a touch of customization to the way Sam looks. Unlike in the original Death Stranding, the option to change suit color doesn’t require you to beat the game and play post-credits. Instead, it’s available as soon as you have access to your Private room in the Ciudad Nudo del Norte (C1) facility after completing Order 002 at the start of Chapter 1 Sam.
As you progress through the story and establish connection levels with the various facilities and preppers in Mexico and Australia, you’ll unlock a variety of new colors to modify the look of your vehicles, suit, and fieldwear. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to change suit color in Death Stranding 2. If you after preset suits, check out all the Death Stranding 2 outfits you can unlock.
Can you change suit color in Death Stranding 2?
To change suit color, you’ll need to visit a Private Room either in facilities or onboard the DHV Magellan. Pan round to the suit on the wall then tap triangle to Customize Look. Select the Normal suit, then cycle through the colors at the bottom of the screen. Once you’re happy with one, tap X to change the suit color.
Note that this only works for the Normal suit and any others, such as the Desert Yellow or Black Camo suits, can’t be customized and you have to stick with the default color. The process is identical in the Private Room on the DHV Magellan. If you’re unhappy with a color, you can revert back to the original scheme by tapping triangle in the customization menu.
How to unlock new suit colors
To unlock new suit colors, you’ll need to raise the connection level star rating with The Artist Lauren Tsai up in the mountains in the north of the Mexico region along with several others in Australia. As a reward for doing this, you’ll receive color data as connection level rewards. Here are the colors you can unlock:
Facility | Connection Level | Color Data Reward |

The Artist | 2 stars | Navy Blue and Volcano Orange color data |
The Artist | 3 stars | Desert Pink and Ghost Green color data |
The Artist | 4 stars | Express Purple and Signal Green color data |

You can also get the Omnireflector color data by hitting a 1 stars connection level and completing Sub Order 123 at the Mr. Impossible facility, though this is very late in the game.
