Where to find all The Twisted Tree targets in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

As you track down the intel needed to find and assassinate Shinbakufu member Ise Sadaoki in Yamashiro, you’ll be tasked with recruiting Ise Sadatame’s friend Ujimasa. However, Ujimasa is a little suspicious so has asked you to help a local umbrella merchant rid himself of a corrupt samurai-shaped problem to prove you’re trustworthy.

This kick starts The Twisted Tree quest, which involves assassinating a father and his six children from the Takahashi family. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find all The Twisted Tree targets in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. 

Before hunting them down, you’ll want to complete the Guard Assignments, Guard Duty, Family Drama, and Dropped Intel sub-quests to get some vital details on their whereabouts, but also learn that some are loyal to their father while others aren’t, which you can use to your advantage. 

You can opt not to kill those that aren’t loyal – Goro and Ichi-Hime. If you assassinate Takahashi Inoshichi first, the four loyal sons will show up immediately afterwards to seek revenge and fight you (the other two will be saved), which can get messy, so we recommend killing the four non-loyal brothers and talking to Goro and Ichi-Hime to earn their rewards, and then killing Inoshichi last.

Takahashi Taro

You can track Takahashi Taro to the Asukai Clan Domain in the western part of Kyoto. He’s just north of the Furo of Kyoto and west of the Imperial Palace. Killing Taro will get you 2000 XP, x2 Mastery Points, Critical Damage with Melee Weapon engraving, and the Burden of Legacy Rare Long Katana.

Takahashi Jiro

You’ll find Takahashi Jiro all the way in the south of Kyoto, just northeast of the Southern Kyoto Kakurega, the Toji Temple grounds, and the Toji Pagoda fast travel point. Taking him out will net you 2000 XP, x2 Mastery Points, Armor Damage on Multiple Enemies engraving, and the Final Word of the Guardian Rare Teppo.

Takahashi Saburo

You can hunt down Takahashi Saburo just southwest of the Asukai Clan Doman, just north of the Furo of Kyoto in the western part of the city. Dealing with him will get you 2000 XP, x2 Mastery Points, and the Saburo’s Deference Rare Katana.

Takahashi Shiro

You’ll find Takahashi Shiro in the southeast of the Nijo Palace in central Kyoto, right near the Nijo Tenshu fast travel spot and the palace’s Legendary Chest. Killing Shiro bags you 2000 XP, x2 Mastery Points, the Armor Piercing on Consecutive Kill engraving, and The Untamable One Rare Katana.

Takahashi Ichi-Hime

You can track Takahashi Ichi-Hime to the Umenomiya Taisha Shrine that’s just beyond the city in the western part of Kyoto. It’s southwest of the Kano Painting School and northeast of the Tenryuji Temple. Assassinating or saving her earns you 2000 XP, x2 Mastery Points, and the Daydreamer’s Grip Rare Bow.

Takahashi Goro

You can find Takahashi Goro all the way in the north of Kyoto, just northwest of the Shokokuji Temple and southwest of the Shokokuji Pagoda fast travel point. Saving or killing Goro earns you 2000 XP, x2 Mastery Points, Damage after Headshot engraving, and the Raijin’s Refusal Rare Teppo.

Takahashi Inoshichi

You’ll find Takahashi Inoshichi in the south of Kyoto, just west of the Honnoji Temple, north of the Southern Kyoto Kakurega, and southeast of the Umenomiya Taisha Shrine. Assassinating him earns you 2000 XP, x2 Mastery Points, Health for Samurai Legendary Engraving, and the Kitsune’s Trickery Legendary Amulet.

Once they are all dead, this will wrap up the Assassin’s Creed Shadows The Twisted Tree quest. Now you can head back to Ujimasa to continue the quest to find Ise Sadaoki.
