Good ol’ Scrappy, a reliable passive source of valuable scrap materials and resources while you’re above-ground battling robots and other players. This aptly named rooster is the closest thing to a companion in Arc Raider’s hostile world. If you pop into your workshop and click on Scrappy, you’ll see that there’s an option to ‘train’ him. In other words, you can level up the animal so that it gathers up more resources at a faster rate for you between raids.
Whether it’s Metal Parts, Fabric, or other basic materials, Scrappy is adept at delivering some of the most used resources. The first item needed to train Scrappy and get him to level two is a Dog Collar. As with most loot, you’re given next to no indication as to where to look for the item. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find a Dog Collar to level up Scrappy in Arc Raiders.
- Dog Collars spawn as loot in areas marked as containing Residential Loot.
- Search through boxes, containers, shelves, cupboards, and drawers.
- Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments on Dam Battlegrounds, and the Santa Maria Houses are the top spots to find a Dog Collar.
Where to find a Dog Collar in Arc Raiders

To find a Dog Collar, you’ll need to search and loot abandoned homes and apartments marked as containing Residential loot. Like with most loot in Arc Raiders, there’s no specific spot where a Dog Collar is guaranteed to spawn, so it’s a case of searching boxes, containers, shelves, cupboards, and drawers until you come across one.
Assuming you’re still in the early game, the best place to search for a Dog Collar in the Dam Battlegrounds is inside the two residential apartment blocks in the northwest of the map, called Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments. However, if you’ve unlocked the Buried City, the Santa Maria Houses, particularly the attic rooms, are an even better choice.
Here’s a quick primer on where to find a Dog Collar on all Arc Raiders maps. Note that there are no suitable Residential locations on the Spaceport, so you won’t find a collar on that map.
- Dam Battlegrounds: Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments
- Buried City: Santa Maria Houses, Plaza Rosa
- The Blue Gate: Village, Ruined Homestead

Once you’ve found a Dog Collar, it’s well worth slotting into your Safe Pocket to ensure it makes it back to Speranza even if you go down before extracting. From there, pop into the Workshop, tap Scrappy, then hit Train and confirm to upgrade Scrappy.
