After being forced to pull out of the bidding for all of Highbury’s share of magazines (including Cube, GamesTM et al), Future has instead acquired 38 other specialist magazines from their rival for the paltry (*cough*) sum of £30.5 million.The deal is expected to be concluded at the end of June and will see Future owning titles such as Fast Car and DVD Review.
There could be a generic statement from a spokesperson included here, but it really won’t be anything you haven’t read before: “Blah blah glad we bought them etc.”
As for the gaming magazines at Highbury? Nobody knows. They still seem to be in a semi-limbo as of now. We’ll let you know when we get more.
