Scans of the magazine began to appear on popular video game forums last Friday, complete with translations of the magazine’s Halo 3 revelations. The article focused on the game’s multiplayer element and featured information on new weapons, vehicles, levels, and game features.

First up is news that Halo 3 multiplayer will not have bots; the reason being that Bungie would rather spend time working on the rest of the game. It’s highly unlikely that there will be a shortage of players to play against online, but offline players might feel a little left out.

The translated magazine info posted on NeoGAF Forums also listed two new weapons: the Spartan Laser, a powerful weapon to carve through vehicles like butter; and the Nail Grenade, which, as you can imagine, does a lot of damage with nails flying all over the shop.

New vehicles coming in Halo 3 include the Mongoose ATV, something originally intended for Halo 2. The ATV features two seats and lacks any kind of firepower, instead being the number one point of call if you need to get somewhere fast. The article also reveals something called a Man Cannon, which sees the player launched across the map using air streams. Although a handy mode of transportation, players in the stream will be vulnerable to attack, but can also fire back.

The Xbox 360 controller has those bumpers not present on the Xbox controller, and Bungie is making use of them. In previous Halo games the X button reloaded, but in Halo 3 the right and left bumpers are used to independently reload your primary and secondary weapons. Secondary weapons will now also be visible on the player’s back.

There’s also some information regarding a Halo 3 limited edition, called the Legendary Edition. This set will come packed into a replica of Master Chief’s helmet and will feature four discs. One disc being the game, then three others featuring documentaries and interviews, Red vs. Blue content, and HD cutscenes from the Halo trilogy.

That’s about it for now, until more articles from recent Halo 3 multiplayer tests are published.
