Tom Orry, Editorial Director – Diablo 3, PS4

This is now my go to game, it seems. The simple console controls make it ideal for a quick 30-minute bash and the constant levelling keeps me coming back. I’m never sure if I’m wandering off too much, getting into battles I have no business being involved in, but it’s fun, and I seem to be making progress.

Steve Burns, Deputy Editor – Burnout 3

Yeah, I’ve been playing Burnout 3 again. It’s the 10th anniversary this week, and so off I went to CEX and picked up a copy for £2.50, a price that seems rather too low. Because it’s still the best racing game of all time. Yes it is.

People often moan that Criterion could never really follow it up, trying with Revenge and Paradise, but how could it? Everything about Takedown is so well-tuned: the events, the courses, the handling, the feedback loop, the bloody cars. This was the firm at its best, and I’m not sure it will ever top it.

Dave Scammell, News Editor – Grand Theft Auto 5, Xbox 360

Oh God I’m still playing it and I can’t stop myself send heeeellllllllllllllllppp…

Brett Phipps, Staff Writer – Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, Vita

I got a lot of stick in the office for loving Danganronpa, and the same applies for talking about its sequel. They’re both great narrative-driven games and I’ve loved my time with them.

I came close to persuading Tom to playing the first (He didn’t – Tom), piquing his interest to the point of popping over to my desk to check it out (Lies! – Tom) as I played (I think it was the mention of Battle Royale that swayed him). But I continue to be the only person to have played the series in the office. Their loss!
