Tom Orry, Editor – Kinect Star Wars, Xbox 360

If you’ve never played a Kinect game you probably won’t be aware of how tired your arms get after a fairly lengthy play session – especially if flailing arm movements are the key gameplay mechanic as in Kinect Star Wars. My right arm, the one used to swing my virtual lightsaber about, is still recovering after playing through the game’s main story mode. Aside from the odd racing or gunning sequence, I was waving my right arm around for a good few hours (and the on-screen “take a break” messages got progressively more appealing). I’m not the fittest person in the world, but neither am I a perfectly round blob of fat, and I bet most people would feel the strain after doing something no normal person ever does on a regular basis. If the whole experience was worthwhile I wouldn’t feel so bitter about it.

Emily Gera, MMO Editor – Mass Effect 3, Xbox 360

It’s the end of an era, ladies and gentlemen. My last VG Plays of this lifetime, and I still haven’t bloody finished Mass Effect 3. Should I just assume Shepard actually died at the beginning ME2 and the events that take place following are just part of a Sixth Sense-like twist? Or that my Fem-Shep was actually, unknowingly a Reaper all along, like a Cylon sleeper agent? Are either of these endings better than the actual one available in the game? Oh well. By this time next year I’ll likely have finished the game and will be able to find out for myself.
