Football Manager is the ultimate football sandbox. It’s a place where dreams come to life, records are shattered, and your wildest football fantasies get played out. For most of us, those dreams involve winning the league with Luton, recreating the movie Moneyball, or turning Tranmere into treble winners. But for some people? They operate on a whole different level.
And if there’s one person who sits at the very top of the Football Manager mountain, it’s Stam from FM Scout. Since founding FM Scout back in 2004, Stam’s built one of the most iconic FM communities on the internet. He’s also created a truckload of tactics over the years – some clever, some chaotic, and some that look like they’ve broken the game entirely. This latest creation? It might be his magnum opus.
So what is this game-breaking tactic? And how do you score nearly 200 goals in a single league season? If you would rather make your own tactic you can do it using this tool or by making your own using my guide.
What happened when this tactic was used for a season?
For context, the most goals ever scored in a Premier League season is 106. In La Liga? That record stands at 121. Keep that in mind as you look at this screenshot:

Now, let’s be honest: it was done with Real Madrid. You’re already starting from a cheat-code-level squad. But even so, scoring over five goals per game across a full season is absolutely obscene. Barcelona finished 23 points behind. Atletico Madrid were nowhere to be seen. I’m terrified to know what they did to poor Espanyol (who finished with 11 points and a -58 goal difference… someone needs to check on them).
This also might be the first and only time Real Madrid have scored 195 league goals and still failed to go unbeaten. Somewhere, Arsène Wenger is sipping wine and nodding proudly.
What is the tactic?

This is what you came for: it’s called FM25KASHMIRKNAP 4123 WBCF RM P111 EC, which honestly sounds like a Wi-Fi password, but don’t let that fool you. This isn’t your standard 4-2-3-1 gegenpress or a 4-3-3 vertical tiki-taka.
You could describe it as a super-attacking 4-1-2-3, but football hipsters will probably call it a 2-3-2-3. Either way, every part of it screams chaos.
- Backline? Just two ball-playing defenders and a goalkeeper on ‘sweeper keeper – attack’. Good luck.
- Midfield? A single roaming playmaker (Tchouaméni, in this case) sits ahead of the defence, with attacking wing-backs pushing absurdly high.
- Attack? Two attacking midfielders (Lookman and Güler) behind a front three of Rodrygo, Vinícius Jr., and Endrick. The striker roles are: Advanced Forward, Complete Forward, and Centre Forward—all on Attack. You get the idea.
Everything about this setup is designed to destroy teams going forward. It’s narrow, high tempo, relentless pressing and the AI doesn’t know what to do with it. With overlapping wing-backs and constant movement in the final third, you overload the box and flood the penalty area with chances.
Is it leaky at the back? Oh, absolutely. But when you’re scoring five a game, who cares?
Does it only work with Real Madrid? Maybe. It’s Real Madrid… you’re starting with some of the best players in the world. But as long-time FM players know, broken tactics often work far beyond their weight class. You could probably plug this in with Stoke and still see goals fly in. Just maybe not 195 of them.
If you want to try it out, you can download the tactic here. Be warned: your save will never be the same again.
Detailed breakdown of the tactic
Mentality: Attacking
In Possession: Shorter passing, low crosses, run at defence, work ball into box—basically designed to draw teams in and then obliterate them with quick, incisive play.
In Transition: Counter-press and counter, with rapid distribution to full-backs. You’re not giving the opponent a second to breathe.
Out of Possession: High line, high press, prevent short GK distribution, maximum pressure everywhere, all the time.
It’s built on familiar FM meta principles: create overloads, press like maniacs, and play as narrow and high as the engine allows.
The front three cause chaos, but it’s also the structure that makes it deadly. You’re essentially ignoring traditional defensive caution and saying: try and outscore us. Spoiler: they won’t.

Final thoughts
If you’ve made your own bonkers tactic that’s broken the match engine and made your assistant manager cry, drop it in the comments. I want to see your wildest, weirdest formations… bonus points if you’ve somehow turned Wigan into world beaters.
