The majority of us have achieved certain milestones in Football Manager. We’ve all earned promotions, we’ve all signed one of the best wonderkids onto our team, but what are the things that only the cream of the crop manage to pull off? After figuring out what the most and least popular FM leagues are, I decided to dive into the Football Manager achievements section to uncover what the rarest accomplishments are.

Some Football Manager achievements are downright impossible, and you can see why hardly anyone has earned them. But some of them… don’t seem too hard? If you’re the kind of person who cares about virtual trophies and want to swiftly boost your achievement count, there are a few relatively easy ones to snag. It’s also worth noting that nobody has completed all the achievements in FM24. So, if you manage to tick off every single one, you’d be in a league of your own. Football Manager? Completed it, mate.

For the purposes of this article, I’m skipping achievements tied to modes outside of classic saves. For example, only 0.1% of players have won three matches in a versus mode competition—but that’s probably because nobody plays that mode. For reference, I’ve personally completed 61% of the achievements in Football Manager 2024. That’s more than last year, but let’s be honest—it’s probably because they decided to snatch Football Manager 2025 away from us.

Playing Football Manager for 30 seasons

Only 0.3% of players have managed this. Come on, folks, we need to step up our game! I’ve never gotten close because I have the attention span of a 12-year-old raised on iPads and have just discovered TikTok, but surely we can get more people playing past 2054! By that stage, your entire squad will be regens, but that’s part of the charm of Football Manager—immersing yourself in a world where 70% of it is completely fictional.

20 Manager of the Year awards

Only 1.2% of players have snagged this accolade. I’m honestly surprised more people have managed this than have played Football Manager for 30 entire seasons. I guess once you’re eight years into a save and you’ve built a dynasty, the Manager of the Year award becomes inevitable.

I remember when I turned Leeds into a wonderkid-producing super team—if I hadn’t won the league and Manager of the Year, I’d have been shocked. Still, if you have the patience to keep playing while dominating for so many years without getting bored, I salute you.

Earning over £100m in your career as a manager

To be honest, this would be a fun one to achieve, but it’s pretty pointless. You can’t do anything with your earnings as a manager. Imagine a version of Football Manager where you could splash your cash on huge houses, fancy sports cars, or even invest in your own team.

Sure, it’d turn Football Manager into an entirely different game, perhaps a legacy-building football version of Crusader Kings complete with misconduct drama and car crash accidents, but it’s fun to dream. Anyway, only 2.8% of players have turned themselves into multi-millionaires in the game.

Becoming the greatest manager of all time

There’s a reason so few players (3%) have unlocked this achievement. To do it, you’d have to dethrone Sir Alex Ferguson, who won 13 Premier Leagues, two Champions Leagues, five FA Cups, and a host of other trophies.

If you manage to surpass his 5,511-point record, fair play. Also, Pep Guardiola is getting pretty close in real life and, in one of my saves, he’s actually taken the top spot. So, you’d probably have to win even more to climb to the pinnacle.

You started a full eleven of home-grown players

If you’re looking for a quick achievement, this should be an easy one. Yet, only 3.3% of players have done it. What has football come to? Where have all the teams prioritizing their academies gone? On second thought, though, I can see why it’s rare. It’s hard to field a full team of home-grown players when we’re all addicted to signing foreign wonderkids. Unless you’re actively aiming for this, or you hate signing players altogether, it’s unlikely to happen by accident.

Five players successfully completed targets you set for them

Let’s be honest—we all completely forgot this was even a feature, didn’t we? It was introduced as a new mechanic, and while it’s realistic, it’s one of those things you overlook while managing. Plus, if players already moan about being praised for scoring an international goal, they’re probably not thrilled when you start setting targets for them. That’s likely why only 3.7% of players have dared—and succeeded—in getting five players to meet their targets.

Winning the World Cup

The pinnacle of football. The trophy everyone dreams of lifting. Yet, only 5% of Football Manager players have achieved this?! Come on, folks, get managing your national team and bump this number up! We all know international management is leaving in Football Manager 2025, so this might be your last chance to get your hands on the Jules Rimet trophy.

These are the rarest achievements in Football Manager 2024 according to Steam. Any surprises on the list? Have you been one of the lucky few to complete these? Let me know in the comments—and good luck chasing those achievements!
