A look ahead to this week’s new releases, which include Assassin’s Creed III, Football Manager 2013, WWE ’13, and Need For Speed Most Wanted.

Welcome to Heads-up, our weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you’ll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Monday we’ll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday’s post. Time to smash open your piggy bank so you can spend its coin-shaped guts.

Recommended

This one’s always an easy game to recommend, and this year is no different. Check out our review later today for all the details, but in short, FM 2013 brings numerous changes – some good, some not so good – and once again delivers an addictive management experience that is bound to have you playing long into the night, for nights and nights.

Worth a look

You can find verdicts for most of these later in the week, so we’re not allowed to say definitively if you should be handing over the cash or not to get that pre-order in. In all honesty you’ve probably already got AC3 pre-ordered anyway.
