Welcome to Heads-up, our weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you’ll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Monday we’ll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday’s post. SSX has been absent for a long time, but EA’s reboot finally hits stores this week. We’ll have a review tomorrow, but from what we’ve played already it seems to have been worth the wait. Alan Wake also makes its way to PC this week (if you haven’t already picked it up digitally), and is a decent port of the Xbox 360 original.

Worth a look

Mario Party has been offering a combination of classic boardgame fun with family-friendly mini-games for years, and it’s back once again with Mario Party 9 on the Wii.

And the rest…

  • J.U.L.I.A. – PC
  • Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove 3D – 3DS
  • Carnival Games: Wild West 3D – 3DS
