Phew, what a week it’s been for Capcom and its fans. First, we had the leaked news that Street Fighter 4 was in development, along with announcements on a raft of new games like Dark Void, and updates to old classics, like Bionic Commando. Then we heard that PS2 classic Okami will be coming to the Wii next year. If that wasn’t enough, this morning an explosion of new information from the Japanese publisher hit the web, including tonnes of new screenshots, trailers and release dates for loads of cool new Capcom games. It’s all been so much, so fast, that we thought we’d bring it all together in one easy to digest place. Read on, and get very, very, excited.

Street Fighter 4

Genre: Beat-em-up.

Release date: Over a year away.

Platform: We don’t know, but we guess PS3 and 360 are a given.

Excitement level: Through the roof. A game eight years in the making. Info is in scant supply, although the heavily stylised Okami-esque trailer perhaps suggests a less cartooney Street Fighter than previous outings. Check out Pro-G’s Top 10: Things That Will Make Street Fighter 4 Great for our take on matters. Street Fighter fans all over the world rejoice. The king of fighters is coming.

Video: Hell yeah

Screenshots: None so far, and don’t expect any for some time.

Devil May Cry 4

Genre: Action

Release date: February 2008.

Platform: PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Excitement level: Getting there. The only new info we have for Capcom’s latest DMC is a release date: February 2008. Still no news on a PC release date though. We’ll keep our ears to the ground.

Video: Devilsih.

Screenshots: You better believe it.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Genre: Action

The PS3 version will boast 16 multiplayer maps right out of the box and additional playable characters each with their own unique abilities. You’ll also be able to play online over PSN with up to 16 players.

Video: Computer says no.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

Video: You bet ya.

Dark Void

Logo

Genre: Sci-fi action

Release date: Winter 2008.

Platform: Not announced.

Excitement level: Warm. With so few details on this new IP it’s hard to get excited. Capcom promises “fast-paced vertical combat mixed with mid-air and on-foot action“. Winter 2008 seems a bit ambitious.

Screenshots: Double nope.

Okami

Okami

Genre: Action adventure.

Release date: Spring 2008.

Platform: Wii.

Excitement level: Hot. Could it be the second chance for a game that experienced disappointing sales on PS2? You’d think the Wii’s motion sensing controls will lend itself well to the game’s brush gameplay. Capcom said Okami on Wii is “sure to be the ultimate version of the game“. We’ll see soon enough.

Video: Not yet.
