On Thursday 5th May, Virgin Megastore, 14-16 Oxford Street, London, will open its doors at 12.01 am. The special late opening is for the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The first 50 people to purchase the game will be rewarded with a goody bag, while everyone else will be given a special reversible wristband which they can wear to show their allegiance. Fans who attend dressed as their favourite character will be in with a chance of winning a lightsaber from LucasArts.
“We are excited to be able to give game players in the UK the chance to be the first to take home a piece of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith,” said Sarah Ewing, General Manager LucasArts Europe at Activision. “It’s a major coup for the official game to precede the movie and it will give fans a taste of what to expect from the movie.”
While the date of the event has conspired against the PR staff, ‘May the 4th be with you,’ so nearly works.
