Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul plays the main character of Robert Robertson in the smash hit Dispatch, and the actor discussed the possibility of Season 2 in an interview with Variety. Although he admits “it could end perfectly here,” Paul added, “With good storytelling, there’s always room [for more]” and the “door is definitely slightly ajar, for sure”.

Surprisingly, Dispatch is Aaron Paul’s first video game performance. Paul admitted that it “was a little complicated” and that’s because of how “the dynamic with a lot of the characters are drastically different because of the gamers’ decisions”. However, he found it an “interesting challenge because you’re just telling such a different narrative and you gotta respond accordingly”.

Episodes 7 and 8 are now out, and we definitely won’t dive into spoilers. However, regarding the outcome he wants for Mecha Man, Paul said he doesn’t have a preference because “They’re all so interesting and it leaves the audience, I think, wanting more, no matter where you land, which is unique”. Paul elaborated, “there’s definitely paths that you can take that completely land you somewhere entirely different towards the end and the path forward is like, God knows where that leads, which is really interesting”.

Dispatch Co-Founders are Thinking About Season 2

AdHoc Studio co-founder, Pierre Shorette, recently admitted in an interview with Jake Baldino on Skill Up’s YouTube channel that they’re “going to have to at least think about Season 2 now”. There’s no guarantee Season 2 will definitely happen, but Shorette said even thinking about a second season was a “question mark three weeks ago,” and the possibility being on the table is a “very cool problem to have”.

Thinking about Season 2 is understandable as fellow co-founder Nick Herman told gamesindustry.biz that they “didn’t anticipate” the game’s quick success. Herman even revealed that AdHoc are “on track” to beat the game’s three year sales target in just three months.

It has been a fantastic experience seemingly out-of-the-blue. It sold over 1 million copies in just 10 days, its player count has more than doubled since launch on Steam alone, and it has a near-perfect 9.5 rating on the PSN store, making it one of the best rated PS5 games, if not the best.

We would absolutely love a second season, but there are other plans at AdHoc. They are officially working with Critical Role on a game set in Exandria, and Shorette has said AdHoc would consider working with “white whale IPs,” pointing to the success of collaborating with The Wolf Among Us while at Telltale. Whatever AdHoc Studio do next, we’ll definitely be there day one.
