Speaking at QuakeCon, id Software technical director John Carmack has revealed his wish to release a “Quake Arena-themed game on the DS“.
Earlier in the QuakeCon conference Carmack had revealed that he spent a few weeks working with a DS dev-kit while on holiday. He also noted that he’s a fan of the game sharing implemented in Metroid Prime Hunters and said Quake for DS is likely to be “the next DS game“.
“I’m pretty sure I’m going to make that one happen,” he said. “My early inclination on this is to build a game that is definitely Quake Arena-themed… but leave it more or less Doom 2 style deathmatch with two-and-a-half-D.“
