Microsoft has launched a new promotion offering customers a free 12 month subscription to Xbox LIVE Gold when they purchase Office 365.
Purchase Office Home 365 Premium/University or sign up to an annual subscription between now and September 28, 2013 and you’ll be eligible to receive the free 12 month subscription, saving you £39.99.
A subscription to Office 365 typically costs £79.99 per year, although you might be able to save a few bob by shopping online. It’s available for £69.65 at Amazon, for example.
Office 365 offers access to a suite of programmes, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, and 20GB storage on Microsoft’s cloud service SkyDrive.

Xbox LIVE Gold subscriptions redeemed now will also carry over to Xbox One this November.
If you’re planning on spending £40 on Xbox LIVE Gold, an extra £30 for a year of Office 365 probably isn’t too bad a deal.
