Some people just can’t be pleased. They get to play possibly the most anticipated game of the year months before going on sale, yet they still have the cheek to moan that they’re not getting long enough to play it.
The Halo 3 beta will run for three weeks from May 16 through to June 7, and Bungie has revealed just why the beta test is a short one.
“I’ve been asked a few times why the impending Beta is only three short weeks long. Well, obviously the number one reason is that the longer we’re spending resources taking care of the Beta, the less time we’re applying what we’ve learned from it to the final game,” said Bungie’s Frank O’Connor in the latest Weekly Update. “And statistically, three weeks is going to seem like a pretty long time when you look at the hours you log on the game.“
O’Connor also reveals that just before the beta goes live expect to see a full FAQ posted over on Bungie.net with everything you’re going to need to know to play the beta.
“We’ll talk you through the controls, some of the new features, how to get it and what you’re going to be playing,” he said.
