Sonic’s grip of the top spot proved to be too weak to hold on, with the might of Knights of the old Republic 2 and World of Warcraft storming into the top two spots. Even with record breaking sales for Word of Warcraft, it couldn’t match the might of a simultaneous PC and Xbox launch for KOTOR 2. Elsewhere the chart is pretty dull, with no other new entries in the whole of the top 40. Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault on the PC re-entered the chart at number 27, while the biggest climber was The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, moving up seven places to number six.
This Friday sees two big releases, with Dead or Alive Ultimate for the Xbox and Mercenaries from LucasArts on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
