Square Enix confirmed today, at a Japanese press event, that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan on December 17 – just as the leaked advert had revealed yesterday.
The game will be available only for PS3 and will be priced ¥8800, which works out at around $100 or £60 – the game certainly won’t be cheap.
A presenter at the event asked about the game’s oversees release date, to which the game’s producer Yoshinori Kitase replied in six to eight months, which matches up perfectly with the spring 2010 date already publicised.
