SCEE has won the recent battle against importing and selling PSP consoles from Japan. In the recent case against Nuplayer Ltd the judge ruled that they had no defence against Sony’s claims. The online retailer has now been ordered to pay substantial costs and damages to Sony as well as handing over all PSP stock, details of sales, supplier data and specific customer data.
This is bad news for Nuplayer and other retailers selling imported PSP consoles. The PSP is to launch across Europe on September 1st and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe don’t want online retailers to spoil the widely anticipated launch.
