Another day, another OUYA announcement: the Android console makers have announced a partnership with VEVO.

The deal means that you’ll be able to watch music videos and live performances via the console, as well as using it for gaming.

“Through this partnership, we will bring our rich catalogue of over 50,000 high definition music videos and new, original programming from more than 11,000 artists to OUYA’s groundbreaking new gaming console,” trumpeted VEVO’s Michael Cerda, senior vice president of product and technology.

“We support and share OUYA’s vision that the future lies in being open and accessible for users looking for high quality entertainment experiences.”

In other news, the OUYA Kickstarter has now passed the $6m investment mark – the total currently sits at $6,287,674.

The console’s makers have also revealed a limited edition “brushed brown metal finish” version of the machine for backers who contribute $140, rather than the usual $99.
