Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has some good and some bad news for those thinking of picking up the Nintendo Switch.
Firstly, the games maker sees no reason why Switch won’t be able to handle Unreal Engine 4 given Gearbox has the UE4 powered Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel running on Nvidia Shield hardware – which has similar specs to the Switch.
@dECU_nutt @UnrealEngine We have Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on nVidia Shield, so why not?

Now the bad news. Borderlands 3 probably isn’t coming to Switch.
“I do not see that as happening,” Tweeted Pitchford. “We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities.”
The cooperative nature of Borderlands seems like a great fit for the Switch, so it’s somewhat disappointing to hear that talks to bring the game to the platform didn’t work out.
