Nintendo unveiled its next-gen console, the Revolution, at last month’s pre E3 conference, but despite much anticipation failed to show the new console’s controller. It has been rumoured that the revolutionary controller will feature touch screen and gyroscopic technology.

Yesterday, at a Nintendo business strategy conference in Japan, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the controller is still very much in development.

We’re at a stage where we’re adding and removing various kinds of functions, which has been very fun,” said Miyamoto. He went on to express concern over the controller having too many functions making it to complex for users.

Miyamoto later added. “The Revolution will have an interesting interface. We’re investing a lot of money into the [development of the] interface, and it’s still not finalized.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata later expressed his confidence in the Revolution’s controller. “expect that you will be surprised with the Revolution’s controller.

Rumours circulating around the Pro-G office about the controller’s appearance resembling a fishing rod are yet to be confirmed.
