The Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 is an effort to break into the gaming market where precision control and ultra fast speeds are required. The Laser Mouse 6000 is Microsoft’s first wired laser mouse and includes a host of features that will apparently make it a great mouse for gamers. One such feature is a ‘Precision Booster’ that will allow gamers to flick between ultra fast speed and precision control at the press of a button. The mouse also has a ‘Gaming Toggle’ used to quickly switch between weapons or perform frequently used action sequences.

Although a wired mouse, the cable is said to be very thin and flexible, making it the closest thing to a wireless mouse, whilst still retaining the ultra fast response a wired mouse brings.

Another gaming peripheral coming from Microsoft is the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. This will be a wired controller that will work with your Windows XP PC, as well as an Xbox 360. Although many PC gamers hate using game pads, they are a must for sports and platform games where a keyboard and mouse simply doesn’t feel right.

The Laser Mouse 6000 will be available in October for around $55 and the Xbox 360 controller in November for around $45. There is no news on a UK price or release date, but expect them to arrive at about the same time.
