New versions of the acclaimed titles Cannon Fodder, Sensible Soccer, Sensible Soccer International Edition and Mega Lo Mania are to be developed specifically for Symbian Smartphones by Telcogames. These games, from Sensible Software who were bought by Codemasters in 1991, were all critically acclaimed and proved hugely popular with consumers. Telcogames are also to develop a version of Codemasters’ Psycho Pinball.
Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder have already had success on mobile phones when recently released for Java enabled handsets and the Symbian games hope to build on this success. There is currently a global Symbian handset user-base of 39,000,000 with experts predicting this will rise to 100,000,000 by the year 2007.
The announced titles should be available through major mobile networks, portals and retailers in the Christmas period.
