Capcom has just filed for a trademark for the name ‘Ixion Saga’ in Japan, possibly suggesting that the publisher has another new IP in the works.
As reported by Siliconera, the company has also snaffled up the domain for ixion-saga.com, although naturally there’s nothing up there yet.
In Ancient Greek mythology, Ixion was the King of the Lapiths – a controversial chap who murdered his father-in-law, Deioneus, by pushing him into a bed of burning coals and wood; supposedly he didn’t want to pay the bride price for marrying his daughter. This crime also made him the earliest person in Greek mythology to kill a member of his own family.
Shortly after the crime Ixion went mad, and when he was invited to Mount Olympus by the gods, he tried to get it on with Zeus’ wife. As a punishment, Ixion was zapped with a thunderbolt and tied to a burning wheel which then span across the heavens for all eternity.
Based on all of this, I reckon Ixion Saga will be a dating sim.
