Consumer electronics giant Apple now has more cash than the whole of the US government.
According to US Treasury figures released this week, the United States government has an operating cash balance of $73.768 billion.
There’s no denying that this is a hefty figure, but it’s a whole $3 billion less than the $76.2 billion Apple has in its metaphorical wallet.
The US economy is clearly not in a great place right now – what with all the money it owes and all – but Apple’s huge growth over the last few years is nothing to be sneered at.
