The weak pound will see App Store pricing rise by 25 per cent, Apple has told developers in official documentation sent out today, reports 9To5Mac.
In the UK the typical £0.79 app will be bumped in price to £0.99, meaning a parity with the US dollar pricing of $0.99.
This price hike will affect all App Store pricing tiers, including in-app purchases such as the All Worlds upgrade for the free Super Mario Run. Expect this to increase from £7.99 to £9.99.
9To5Mac also expects similar increases to apply to the iTunes Store for other entertainment purchases.
The new pricing structure will roll out over the next week.
A statement from Apple given to The Verge notes: “Price tiers on the App Store are set internationally on the basis of several factors, including currency exchange rates, business practices, taxes, and the cost of doing business. These factors vary from region to region and over time.”
